Parks as Classrooms
We are currently writing new lessons for teachers to use in the classroom - stay tuned for those additions in the "Browse" section of the Curriculum Materials page. For right now, we still offer a link to the War for Freedom curriculum and also powerpoint customized NPS and Harpers Ferry "Jeopardy" powerpoints for download.
The preserved cultural and natural resources of the Harpers Ferry landscape provide opportunities to engage students in dynamic American stories, from 18th century pioneering to 20th century civil rights. These authentic stories / places coupled with hands-on activities create wonder, a powerful motivator in learning. We invite educators to make plans to visit and make this place their classroom.
