July 4th often brings heat and humidity along with it. Bring plenty of water with you, especially if you are planning on staying all day. Fireworks, grills, and alcohol are prohibited. First aid tents and lost person stations will be available at Memorial Circle, the Netherlands Carillon, Columbia Island, and Gravelly Point. The pedestrian tunnel underneath Humpback Bridge is open this year. If you're parking in the Pentagon and want to get to the riverside, go over the pedestrian bridge that crosses the boundary channel and follow the path to the tunnel. To avoid break-ins, do not leave valuables in your car. All pets must be on a 6 foot or shorter leash at all times. |
