How Healthy is Your Water?

The George Washington Memorial Parkway is located within the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay watersheds. Everything that occurs along the Parkway and in the surrounding towns and neighborhoods will affect the water in the area.

One of the main sources of drinking water in this area is the Potomac River. This 383 mile long river flows from West Virginia to the Chesapeake Bay, passing homes, neighborhoods, towns, and Washington D.C. along the way.

It is important to protect the health and cleanliness of the water we all depend on. This website is a resource page to help you learn more about water quality and to provide ways to help improve and protect the water we drink.
