FEBRUARY PROGRAMS Sunday, February 29 2-3 p.m. Let Freedom Ring U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial/Netherlands Carillon Join a ranger for a brief overview of the significance of the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial. Then take a short walk to see another symbol of freedom, the Netherlands Carillon. Meet at the statue. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sunday, 2/22, 2/29 8:00-10:30 a.m. Friends of Dyke Marsh Bird Walks Belle Haven Park and Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve Join the Friends of Dyke Marsh, a volunteer group dedicated to preserving and enhancing Dyke Marsh, for weekly bird walks, every Sunday, weather permitting, in and around the Belle Haven Park/Dyke Marsh area. Volunteer! - Watershed Cleanup Belle Haven Park and Adjacent Area Show you care…Join rangers and others in keeping the park clean. This is a great on-going opportunity for individuals, families, and community groups. Note: A Parental Approval Form must be signed for minors in advance of work. Sponsored by the National Park Service and The Campagna Center's Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. Meet at the bathrooms directly next to the Mt. Vernon Trail. Join a ranger for a moderate to strenuous 1-mile hike at Turkey Run Park . Wear sturdy shoes and bring water and binoculars (if you have them). Meet by the bulletin board at Parking Lot C-1. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1-2 p.m. Fireside Ranger Talk – Animal Antics Fort Hunt Park Cozy up to the warm fireplace and learn about the animals that live in the park.
