George Washington Carver National Monument would like to invite the public to review the Heartland Invasive Plant Management Plan and Environmental Assessment. The newly developed plan will guide the park and fourteen other national parks in the Midwest Region in eradication, control, or containment of invasive plants. |

When the Carver family settled in southwest Missouri, much of the land was tallgrass prairie. Through the years, the land was converted to agricultural uses. Today, the park is home to restored areas of beautiful tallgrass prairie.
