Celebrating life of the Missouri prairie during the late 1800s when George Washington Carver was a child, this event includes basket weaving, candle-making, Dutch-oven cooking, spinning, weaving, storytelling, musical groups, quilting, a junior ranger station, and more.

Racial segregation, and sometimes violence, forced George Washington Carver to move from place to place to gain an education. He later sketched the first school (on the right, in drawing) he was allowed to attend in Neosho, Missouri.
