National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands we enjoy. Park staff have identified projects where volunteers can lend a hand. If interested, please contact the park.

Prairie Rose

Wildflowers are a spectacular sight at the park during the spring and summer.  Prairie rose, purple coneflower, black-eyed susan, and yarrow are just a few of the many native species found here that would have inspired young George.
