The public is invited to attend a Black History Month program at the park on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10 a.m. Local author Kay Hively will share a power point presentation based on her book They Trusted God and Pressed On.

Prairie Rose

Wildflowers are a spectacular sight at the park during the spring and summer. Prairie rose, purple coneflower, black-eyed susan, and yarrow are just a few of the many native species found here that would have inspired young George.
