Art in the Park Saturday, April 16, 2011 10:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. Celebrating George Washington Carver's love for art, this event features artists at work across the park grounds. Visitors may participant in hands-on demonstrations and instructional workshops with various media, including pastels, natural dyes, and pencil. Location: park grounds and inside visitor center. |
Did You Know?
The Jesup Agricultural Wagon was designed as a school on wheels. It traveled to the poorest farmers in the South who could not attend Carver's lectures on agriculture. The wagon would carry seeds for planting, jars for preserving foods, bulletins written by Carver, and many other useful items.
