Walnut Fence Row
Before
the wide use of barbed wire, farmers often planted “fence
rows” to control their livestock. Thus was a wise use of
an available resource. Moses Carver planted one here over
100 years ago, but the original trees died or were cut down.
The National Park Service planted this row in the 1950’s
to
provide an example of what the original fence row might have
looked like.
