George Washington Carver National Monument offers a variety of learning experiences for students of all ages at the Carver Science Discovery Center. The center provides scientific equipment and instruction that allows students to conduct experiments related to Dr. Carver's work.

George Washington Carver used science to examine and discover the world around him. His research and teaching covered many areas of scientific study. These scientific interests led Carver to do great things. In the Carver Science Discovery Center students encounter this great scientist while fulfilling many of the Missouri curriculum standards.

Students can sample each one of these sciences: chemurgy, nutrition, soil science, meteorology, botany, mycology, ecology, and systematics/classification with categories such as rock and animals. The laboratory setting of the center permits the students to observe, participate in hands-on experiments, and reach scientific conclusions. Through the Carver Science Discovery Center, students - many of whom may become future scientists - learn of George  Washington Carver's work as an inventor, scientist, and chemurgist.
