    Most trails and roads in the park have reopened. Current closures include the Frijole Foothills Loop, McKittrick Ridge, the northern El Capitan Trail section leading to Williams Ranch, and the Salt Basin Dunes Road. Call 915-828-3251 for info.

Curriculum Materials

Curriculum materials from Guadalupe Mountains National Park focus on Paleontology, Geological Science, History and Plant and Animal life in the park for elementary, middle school and high school students. All of the curriculum materials are aligned with Texas TEKS standards and Core Standards for New Mexico students in Science, Mathematics, Language Arts, History, Health and the Fine Arts.

Field Trips

Bring your students out to the Guadalupes for a one of a kind experience of the outdoors. Our staff is able to make presentations from a geological perspective emphasizing rock formations and fossils from the Permian Period. Our presentations on animal and plant life center on students comprehending the concept of ecosystems and wilderness.
