On Saturday, October 17th, Gulf Islands National Seashore will present a free concert – Soundside Serenade- from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at the Naval Live Oaks picnic area. A string ensemble from the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra will perform musical selections from a variety of classical composers. In addition, this year’s event will include a performance by the Santa Rosa Strings Student Orchestra. “Autumn is the perfect time of year to enjoy the outdoors at Gulf Islands National Seashore, and this event gives friends and families a chance to gather and enjoy music in a beautiful setting” remarked Superintendent Jerry Eubanks. This event will take place on the lawn and under the trees along the shore of Santa Rosa Sound. Visitors are invited to bring a blanket or a lawn chair to sit on and may bring their own picnic lunch and/or cold beverages. All programs are free and open to the public.

The Naval Live Oaks picnic area is located south of U.S. Highway 98, east of the City of Gulf Breeze. For more information call 850-934-2634 or visit the park’s website at www.nps.gov/guis. -NPS-
