September 2009 Sunday Programs

  

Sunday September 13th at 2:00 p.m., join us at the William M. Colmer VisitorCenter for the program du jour.  During the “Ranger’s Choice” program, learn more about the resources at Gulf Islands National Seashore.  Topics could include cultural or natural history.  Join us on the 13th to find out more!

 

 

The Gulf Islands Visitor Center is located off U.S. Highway 90 East in Ocean Springs.  The William M. Colmer Visitor Center is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  For more information about Gulf Islands National Seashore and programs offered, call 228-875-9057 ext. 4100 or visit the park’s website at www.nps.gov/guis.

Did You Know?
The 2nd Regiment of Louisiana Native Guards trained on Ship Island and became the first black unit on April 9, 1863 on the Gulf Frontier. They met Confederate forces in battle during a raid on Pascagoula, MS.
