Gulf Islands National Seashore to Remove Temporary Shower Facilities at the Fort Pickens Jetty Restroom
Gulf Islands National Seashore Superintendent Dan Brown has announced that the showers behind and attached to the Jetties restroom building at the Fort Pickens Area are repaired and operational. The Seashore will remove the temporary shower that had been placed next to the restroom to the north/sound side of the building.
"The Fort Pickens jetties are very popular with divers, and these showers are regularly used to rinse off diving equipment," Brown said."The temporary shower met a need but did not drain properly creating a mess. These improvements are designed to provide a cleaner and healthier environment for both the public and the terrestrial wildlife in the area."
