Gulf Islands National Seashore Announces Summer Lecture Series

Gulf Islands National Seashore Superintendent Dan Brown announced today a summer lecture series in cooperation with the Florida Public Archaeology Network at the Fort Pickens Auditorium. All programs begin at 10:00 a.m.

July 16:Dr. William Lees, "Travelogue: Civil War in Florida"

July 23:Nicole Bucchino, "Talking Smack: Sailing Vessels of Pensacola's Fishing Industry"

July 30:Wayne Abrahamson, "Pirates of Pensacola and other Bandini along the Gulf Coast: Blockade Running in Pensacola"

August 6:Dr. Della Scott-Ireton, "Shipwrecks of Pensacola Bay"

The programs are free of charge; however, there is an $8 entrance fee to the Fort Pickens Area.
