Gulf Islands Announces Mississippi Coast Audubon Society Bird Walk during Healthy Parks, Healthy People Event
Gulf Islands National Seashore is hosting the second annual "Healthy Parks, Healthy People: Let's Move Outside" on Saturday, November 10th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Davis Bayou area in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The event is free.Visitors may bring a picnic lunch for this day-long event and participate in a variety of activities that focus on healthy living and outdoor activities.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. the Mississippi Coast Audubon Society will lead a field trip through the marshes of Davis Bayou.Join Mr. Joe Ravita, seasoned birder on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, as he leads beginners and experts alike to discover the birds of Davis Bayou.Meet Mr. Ravita in front of the William M. Colmer Visitor Center.
There will be various activities offered throughout the festival.Park rangers, master naturalists, scouts, hiking clubs, birding experts and other partners will present a variety of walks and talks.During the festival, from 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., visitors may check the posted schedule for nature and bird walks, subject matter expert guest speakers, boat tours, fitness classes, and much more.
