The
Seashore Patch Program is designed
for organized children's groups, including boy and girl scouts, 4-H and
church youth groups to learn about the barrier islands, coastal forts,
plants, and animals of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Leaders may
pick up handbooks at the temporary visitor's center in Ocean Springs, MS. Children must
complete eight of the indoor or outdoor activities
in the handbook. Participation in the Seashore Patch Program is a fun way for children and their leaders to learn about the National Seashore and a great reason to visit the park. Boy and Girl Scout groups may also participate in the Service to America Scout Patch Program. Groups with eleven or more members who complete the handbook requirements receive a 20 percent discount on the Seashore patch. Return the questionnaire about the program when purchasing the pins or patches. For information about the program please call the visitor's center at 228-875-9057. |
