Smokemont Campground Improvements

An accessible campsite at Smokemont Campground.

During 2010, the restrooms and several campsites at Smokemont Campground were renovated to make them accessible.

Smokemont Campground is now reopen following paving of campground roads. Smokemont is one of the larger campgrounds in the park, with 142 individual sites, three group campsites and an amphitheater. All of the roads within the Smokemont developed area including all associated parking areas, horse concession parking area, campsite pullouts, and dump station were repaved.

All of the restrooms in the campground were renovated during the project and three restrooms were made disabled accessible. In addition, campsites B26, B28, B33, D35, D36, F43, and group site 3 were renovated to make them accessible.
