Overview
The fundamental significance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park is that it is a sanctuary for a remarkably diverse array of native plants and animals, providing a place that students can learn about the different animal groups.This unit is broken into three parts. The overall unit involves a trip to the park and is accompanied by three preparation activities and three wrap-up activities. This is part 3 of the field preparation activity.

1) Students will become more familiar with the common types of organisms found in their backyard.
