2014 Special Events at Grant-Kohrs Ranch NHS

Junior Ranger Day - Saturday, April 19
Grant-Kohrs Ranch has fun kids activities planned.
Event is from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm and is free of charge.

Cattle Branding - Saturday, July 26
Branding cattle is an important time for many ranches. Along with branding our calves, there will be fun family activities help throughout the day.
Event is from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Haying with Horses - Sunday, July 27; Thursday, August 7; Tuesday, Aug. 12; Thursday, Aug. 21
Come out and watch haying demonstrations using historic horse drawn implements.
Event is from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, each day. Note: Ranger talks and other haying programs will be offered from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Sunday July 27th.

Pumpkin Sunday - Sunday, October 19
Enjoy the fall season with themed activities for children and special programs and activities for visitors of all ages.
Event is from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Holiday Open House - Sunday, December 7
Celebrate the season with music, children's activities, wagon rides and refreshments. The Kohrs home will be decorated throughout the month of December.
Event is from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

There is no fee to attend any of the events.

“Range Wars” between cattlemen and sheep growers didn’t happen in Montana. For a time, Montana cattlemen found it profitable to raise sheep. Then, when cattle became profitable again, they switched back to cattle. Montana ranges support a wide variety of grazing animals, both wild and domestic.
