Visitor Center and Park InformationThe park brochure is available in alternate formats at the visitor center, including large print. An audio described brochure is also available for download free of charge through the UniDescription app and can also be found on the Audio Only Brochure page. On the Text Only Brochure page, there is a text only version and a reader compatible word document available to download.Please remember that the site is an operating cattle ranch. Ranching equipment and livestock may be moving through public areas. There may be livestock in some buildings as you enter. Also, the railroad tracks running through the site are active. Please be aware of your surroundings as you explore so you can safely enjoy the ranch. WalkwaysThe pathway from the Visitor Center to the Ranch House is paved and level. All other walkways and trails throughout the park are uneven dirt or gravel surfaces. Some are deeply pitted. Walking to the Warren Barn from the Ranch House requires crossing two sets of railroad tracks. There are no warning signals at these crossings. Ranch House ToursTouching items inside the ranch house is not allowed, to protect the original furnishings. Please be aware that the interior of the house includes narrow halls and doorways, high thresholds, and moving over carpet edges.Activities and Ranger TalksRanger talks strive to engage multiple senses and learning styles, and often include audio components and/or objects to touch. Programs may be on uneven historic flooring or uneven natural surfaces.ExhibitsSome exhibits feature tactile elements and audio experiences. There are tactile exhibits in the Visitor Center, Garage/Blacksmith Shop, Leeds Lion Barn, and Chuck Wagon. |
