Body Located at Grand Canyon National Park

Grand Canyon, Ariz.– National Park Service personnel have located a body several hundred feet below the rim in the last known vicinity of missing Glendale, AZ resident Marc Buckhout.

The family of Mr. Buckhout has been advised of the discovery.  Due to the location and technical operation required to recover the body, the National Park Service will conduct the recovery mission first thing tomorrow morning. Once the body is recovered it will be turned over to the Coconino County Medical Examiner for positive identification.

Marc Buckhout, 36, was reported missing by a member of his family on Saturday evening. He was last seen at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 hiking along the South Rim west of Grandview Point in the vicinity of Highway 64.

The National Park Service in coordination with the Coconino County Medical Examiner is conducting an investigation into the incident.
