Hiking Trails
Lower elevation trails are open for hiking. There may be several inches of snow in high elevations. If hiking to the Alpine Lakes, Bristlecone Pine Grove, or to the Glacier, expect some icy trail conditions and occasional deep snow drifts.

Fire Conditions
Great Basin National Park plans to conduct two slash pile burns between September and December. The burns will be conducted in the Park Residential Area, between Baker Creek Road, Highway 488 and the Park Residential Area, and the Borrow Pit in the Baker Ridge area. The burns will take place only if specific weather and moisture conditions are met.

Migrating raptors, traveling south from breeding grounds north of the Great Basin Desert, concentrate along the Goshute Range in Nevada. Favorable migration conditions attract one of the largest known concentrations of migrant raptors in western North America.
