Governors Island is currently closed for public access. We are scheduled to re-open at the end of May, 2012. Please check back for exact dates. For more information please call us Monday - Friday at 212-825-3045 or visit us on our Facebook page or Twitter feed.

Information from 2011 Season:

Friday -Sunday Access:

  • A food cart vendor serving a variety of fare, including bottled water, may be available on these days.
  • Please feel free to bring a picnic lunch. Picnic tables and shaded green-space is available.
  • Alcohol is not permitted on Governors Island. If you bring alcohol, you will not be able to leave it with a Park Ranger or Security Guard for pick-up later.
  • There are also many eating establishments in Lower Manhattan.
