Special Park Uses Event Calendar for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area

These events are not sponsored by the National Park Service or the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Most events do not have any road closures. For those that do, we strive to have all roads open by 10am unless noted below.

October

6th through 11th - Presidents Cup parking at Fort Funston. 50 ADA parking spaces will be reserved for this event and all other parking will be open to the public.

9th through 11th - Fleet Week. No official event presence in the park, but look for our most crowded parking situation of the year near Crissy Field and Fort Mason, and along Conzelman in Marin.

12th - Monday - Federal offices closed for Columbus Day. No large events in the park.

17th - Saturday - Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation walkathon at Crissy Field. No road closures.

17th and 18th - Goblin Jamboree at the Bay Area Discovery Museum. No road closures but look for an increase in parking demand at Fort Baker

18th - Sunday - Nike Women's Marathon - Major road closures from Union Square to the Embarcadero, through Fort Mason, past Marina Green and Crissy Field, into the Presidio, Golden Gate Park, the Great Highway and more.

November

1st - Sunday - US Half Marathon starting at Aquatic Park, running down Marina Blvd past Crissy Field, up and over the Golden Gate bridge, and back again. Road closures.

15th - Sunday - The Rival Race - Local colleges and universities will be racing against each other at Crissy Field. Mason Street closures TBA.

11th - Wednesday - Federal offices closed for Veterans Day. No large events in the park.

26th - Thursday - Federal offices closed for Thanksgiving. No large events in the park.

This list is not all inclusive and doesn't list small events and some events that are North of the Golden Gate Bridge. We will update this list as often as we can. Email an event specialist to be put on a mailing list of event announcements.

This calendar page is a beta version and will be updated as often as possible. Because we want to share information as soon as possible, we will sometimes post event dates before we have all the details.

Thank you for your interest in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
