The National Park Service welcomes the public to join the free entertainment and fireworks show at the Municipal Pier and Aquatic Park in San Francisco on July 4, but urges park visitors to use public transportation due to very limited parking. Please note that due to ongoing construction, the bleacher area at Aquatic Park will be closed. Also, Jefferson Street along the waterfront will be closed to traffic. The fireworks display will begin around 9:30 p.m.—so come early for best viewing.

The National Park Service is reminding all Bay Area residents not to bring fireworks on the Fourth of July to Ocean Beach, Crissy Field, the Presidio, Stinson Beach, and any other park lands. Law enforcement personnel will seize all illegal fireworks. Conviction for possession of fireworks is a felony. All alcohol regulations will be strictly enforced, including the legal drinking age of 21 and public intoxication.

Be aware that beach fires of more than three feet in diameter are illegal. Communities adjacent to Ocean Beach have expressed concern regarding smoke and noise from beach fires.Please make sure all fires are extinguished before you leave, and remember to clean up the debris after your beach fire. Please use only designated fire rings between Lincoln and Fulton Streets at Ocean Beach across from Golden Gate Park.

Title 36 Section 1.5 (a) (2) of the Code of Federal Regulations prohibits all types of glass bottles and/or containers on the sidewalks and seawall and beach area of Ocean Beach from its intersection with Lincoln Way north to the Cliff House. All types of glass bottles and/or containers are prohibited and will be confiscated on all beaches in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA).
