There are a variety of documents that guide management of the GGNRA. Many documents, like the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) are legal requirements. Others, like the park's General Management Plan and Superintendent's Compendium, are formal documents that create a "contract" between the GGNRA and the public and are specific to the park. Director's and Superintendent Orders direct how how all NPS units will operate.
