On May 9, 2004, a 4.8-hectare (12-acre) fire broke out in the eucalyptus stand adjacent to the Tamalpais community. For more information see our Tam Fire bulletin.

On June 21, 2004, a fire west of Fort Baker in Sausalito burned 2.2 hectares (5.5 acres). Check out the Solstice Fire map.

On August 27, 2004, a fire north-east of Fort Baker in Sausalito burned over 2.8 hectares (7 acres). Check out the Lateral Fire map.

Did You Know?
After incubation lasting four weeks, a gull chick breaks out of its egg without assistance from its parents. At hatching, the chick is fully covered with down and is soon able to open its eyes and stand up to walk about the nest.
