The Division of Planning is responsible for preparing, updating and implementing park planning and projects. Park planners specialize in project management and design, review other agency projects and neighboring development plans, and manage compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other laws and regulations. Planning staff are also responsible for preparing environmental documents such as categorical exclusions, environmental assessments (EA), and environmental impact statements (EIS).
This site is dedicated to providing the public with more information on planning activities and projects within Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) and how to stay involved in the planning process. Below are a variety of ways to be involved:
Attend public meetings or site walks planned for specific park projects. These events will be posted on individual project websites
and announced by e-mail notification.
Attend an Open House event
to speak with NPS and Parks Conservancy staff about current park projects.
For more information or questions on any of GGNRA’s projects, contact us by email or call (415) 561-4930.
