Candy Corner Information Center.

National Park Service

The grounds of Glen Echo Park are open daily from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. (the next day).

The National Park Service offices are closed on the following holidays: Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, December 25th, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, and President's Day.

There are many different activities that take place at the park throughout the year and during different hours. See more information below.

Candy Corner Information Center

One location where you can find a park ranger is the Candy Corner Information Center. Here you will also find exhibits on the park's history and kids' activities. The Candy Corner Information Center is currently operating on the following summer season schedule:

Thursdays and Fridays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm

Ranger Station

You can also find a park ranger at the Ranger Station, located in the lower level of the red brick building next to the carousel. Office hours are from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm daily.

**Hours for Candy Corner Information Center and Ranger Station Office are subject to change based on available staffing levels and requirements.

 

Dentzel Carousel

Ranger-led tours of the historic 1921 Dentzel Carousel are free and offered year round! Tours can also be scheduled by advanced reservation by calling 301-320-1400.

May - September, every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 am (meet at carousel)

October - April, every Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm (meet at carousel)

Tickets to ride the carousel are $1.25 per ride. Hours of operations:

May 4 - June 30: Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

July 1 - August 31: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

September 1 - September 30: Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Monday, May 27 (Labor Day), 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Friday, August 30 (Labor Day Art Show Reception), 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Monday, September 2 (Labor Day), 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Friday, September 6 (Glen Echo Fire Department Bingo Night), 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Social Dances in the Spanish Ballroom

Dancing takes place at Glen Echo Park year round! For the latest information on the social dancing schedule and activities in the Spanish Ballroom, call the park's event hotline at 301-634-2222 or visit www.glenechopark.org/social-dances.

Art Classes

Art classes are offered year round and schedules vary. For more information, visit www.glenechopark.org or call 301-634-2222. Copies of the class and events catalog are available throughout the park grounds.

Children's Theater Shows

Glen Echo Park has two resident children's theater groups that offer year round entertainment for kids of all ages.
