June 2012 AiP
Watercolorist Jerry Lindsay A life-time enthusiast of watercolor, local painter, Jerry Lindsay, found the perfect resource for his interests in the Page/Lake Powell area. In the Andrew Wyeth tradition of seeing a painting in ordinary surroundings, subjects include machinery, buildings, landscapes, and the inherent beauty of all the "color country" that is Page and the surrounding countryside. Strong sunlight and subtle seasonal changes provide inexhaustible possibilities for watercolor painting. "Too much material and not enough time", provide motive for ceaseless practice in trying to capture all that passes through the artist's eyes. It has become a passion for him to help others to appreciate the beauty that is Glen Canyon Recreation Area through each of his paintings. Jerry Lindsay will be at Wahweap in June, 2012.
