Updated Regulations Available for Glen Canyon and Rainbow Bridge
Superintendent Todd Brindle announced today the availability of the 2011 Superintendent’s Compendium for Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Rainbow Bridge National Monument. The Superintendent’s Compendium lists the designations, closures, permit requirements, and other restrictions that are applicable within the boundaries of both national park areas.
The Superintendent’s Compendium continues to note the requirement that all boaters on Lake Powell obtain and display a "Mussel-Free" certificate prior to launching their vessel.
The National Park Service uses the Superintendent’s Compendium to publicize regulations that protect park resources, provide for public health and safety, and avoid conflicts among visitor uses. The Superintendent’s Compendium is updated on an annual basis or more frequently when necessary. The complete 2011 Superintendent’s Compendium can be retrieved from the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area website at: www.nps.gov/glca by clicking "Park Management," then "Laws & Policies"
