Glen Canyon National Recreation Area has experiencing some flooding due to significant rainfall received over the past week. The Chains Access Road has been washed out and is currently closed to all vehicle traffic. Crews are working on repairing the road, but it is expected to remain closed throughout the weekend.

Please check weather and road conditions before visiting Glen Canyon. Wet weather may make some trails slippery or unstable and unpaved roads may be impassable even for four wheel drive vehicles. Do not enter a slot canyon if rain has been forecast. Even if the skies above you are clear, a storm many miles away may trigger a flash flood in your area. Flash floods can also create damage in more open areas, as well.

Please call 928-628-6404 or visit http:www.nps.gov/glca for additional information on current conditions at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
