Page, AZ –The National Park Service today announced that an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Page Water Supply Project is available for review and public comment. The project involves the construction and operation of a water pump station and conveyance pipeline from Lake Powell to a tie-in point on the existing City of Page water system. Because the water pumping station and much of the conveyance pipeline would be built on NPS property, the City of Page is required to obtain a right of way. This EA is being completed as part of the NPS right of way process.

The EA is available for viewing and comments may be submitted online at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/glca. Comments may also be sent to: Page Water Supply Project EA, Glen Canyon NRA, P.O. Box 1507, Page, AZ 86040, or by fax to (928) 608-6259. A limited number of hard copies of the EA are available for review at the park headquarters building in Page, AZ.

Please be aware that your entire comment, including personal identifying information such as your name, address, and phone number, may be made available to the public at any time.

All comments must be received by May 21, 2009.
