Glen Canyon National Recreation Area Proposes Fee Increase
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is proposing an increase to entrance, camping, and boat use fees in accordance with direction from the National Park Service authorizing all park units to conduct stakeholder outreach through civic engagement to gauge support for possible fee changes.

Two Wahweap Area Services to Close for the 2014-15 Winter Season
The comfort stations at Wahweap Beach and the Wahweap picnic grounds will close for the winter in coming weeks. The Wahweap Beach comfort station will be winterized and closed on November 17, 2014. The picnic area comfort station will close on December 1, 2014.

Rainbow Bridge National Monument will be closed for the month of January to complete repairs to the trail from Lake Powell.

Winter 2014-15 Hours for Wahweap Main Ramp Pump-out
Winter hours will begin on Monday, November 10, 2014 for the boat pump-out station at Wahweap main ramp. Hours of operation for the pump-out will be 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily. Fresh water will not be available during winter operating hours.

National Park Service Celebrates 98th Birthday
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area will celebrate the 98th birthday of the National Park Service by waiving its normal entrance fee of $15 and providing a free ranger-led hike to the Hanging Gardens at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25.

National Park Service Dispatch received a call on July 23, 2014 reporting that a twelve-year old female from Israel was struck by a boat propeller and sustained a severe lower leg injury.

The Chains Road Opens July 25 2014
National Park Service (NPS) maintenance staff completed temporary repairs to the Chains road which opened late in the afternoon on Thursday July 24, 2014. Vehicles can now access the Chains area and the Hanging Garden trail head from sunrise to sunset.
