Date: February 5, 2009
Page, AZ – Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (NRA) announced today that RSS feeds are available from the park’s website for all news releases. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's an easy way for people to keep up with news and information that's important to them. It helps avoid the conventional methods of browsing or searching for information on websites and the content can be delivered directly to your computer or other device without cluttering your inbox with e-mail messages. This content is called a "feed." An RSS reader is a small software program that collects and displays RSS feeds. Some browsers have built-in RSS readers. If you're using a browser that doesn't currently support RSS, there are a variety of RSS readers available on the web; some are free to download and others are available for purchase. Each reader has a slightly different way of adding a new feed, also called a "channel." Follow the directions for your reader. Once your reader is up and running you may subscribe to the Glen Canyon NRA feed at: http://www.nps.gov/glca/parknews/newsreleases.htm.
