    The public is asked to use extreme caution when using the public launch ramps at Lake Powell. The decrease in water levels has reduced the depth of water in these areas, creating shallow water on the ramps with steep drop-offs. More »

  • Bullfrog Launch Ramp Construction

    Bullfrog Main lunch ramp is CLOSED for construction. All boats may use the temporary ramp located on the spit to launch and retrieve.

New Exhibit at the Carl Hayden Visitor Center

A new exhibit, The Colorado: River of Possibilities, opens May 11, 2012 at the Carl Hayden Visitor Center with a special Glen Canyon Lecture Series event featuring veteran river guide and author, Christa Sadler.

Doors to the visitor center and the new exhibit open at 6pm on May 11 with the event beginning at 6:30pm. Ms. Sadler will present "The Grandest Muse: The Colorado River Through Grand Canyon" a photographic journey down the river that conveys the powerful lessons of place that the river imparts.

The exhibit is an Arizona Centennial Legacy Project that features two historic Colorado River boats from the Grand Canyon National Park Collection, as well as historic images of early explorers, surveyors, and pioneer river guides.  Explore the exhibit and learn how Colorado River exploration and use has changed over time. Discover how the river speaks to you.
