Installation and Welcome Ceremony for New Superintendent of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Rainbow Bridge National Monument
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area announced today that the Installation and Welcome Ceremony for new superintendent Todd Brindle has been set for Tuesday, March 22nd.
Brindle, a 33-year veteran of the National Park Service assumed his new position in late February. He had been serving as the superintendent of Big Thicket National Preserve, Texas since 2006 prior to this assignment. He has worked in 11 National Park Service units, gaining extensive management experience and is looking forward to working with park partners, the local communities, Arizona and Utah counties, the Navajo Nation and other associated tribes to manage and preserve the resources at Glen Canyon and Rainbow Bridge National Monument.
The public is welcome to attend the Installation Ceremony. John Wessels, National Park Service Intermountain Regional Director, is planned to attend and give a brief address. The ceremony will be followed by an informal reception hosted by Aramark-Lake Powell Resorts and Marinas with light refreshments provided by the Glen Canyon Natural History Association. The ceremony will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Navajo Room at the Lake Powell Resort at Wahweap.
