Glen Canyon Winter 2010-11 Hours of Operation

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area announces the following winter operating hours for facilities and commercial services.

The Stateline fuel dock closed on November 1.

Lake Powell Resort at Wahweap will remain open throughout the winter months and will provide breakfast and lunch at Java City Coffee.

The main ramp comfort station at Wahweap and the vault toilets at Lone Rock will remain open throughout the winter months.

The Carl Hayden Visitor Center will transition to winter operating hours effective November 28. The Visitor Center will be open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with tours of Glen Canyon Dam beginning at 9:00 a.m. daily.

As of October 4, the Ja’ di’ To’oh restaurant at Antelope Point is open Thursday through Sunday for lunch and dinner service.

Dangling Rope Marina on Lake Powell will close on November 29 and reopen March 1, 2011. Fuel will not be available at Dangling Rope during this period. Boat fuel will be available at the Antelope Point, Bullfrog, and Wahweap marinas throughout the winter months.

The Bullfrog Visitor Center closed for winter effective October 17, and the Navajo Bridge Interpretive Center closed November 6.

The Anasazi Restaurant at Bullfrog closed on November 8 for the winter. The Defiance House Lodge will remain open all winter with limited services. Family units with complete kitchens are also available Bullfrog, Halls Crossing and Hite.

Campgrounds at Wahweap, Bullfrog, and Lees Ferry will remain open throughout the winter.

The winter months are a great time to visit Glen Canyon and Lake Powell. Visitors can take advantage of smaller crowds and value-season discounts. Many services and amenities remain available from park concession operations and businesses in the City of Page.
