Glen Canyon to Host Community Open House at Park Headquarters

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area will host a community open house at National Park Service headquarters on Wednesday, January 13, 2010.

Superintendent Stan Austin cordially invites the public to meet and talk with park staff between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, at Glen Canyon headquarters. Superintendent Austin and park staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on park activities and seasonal employment, an update on the Rim Trail, highlights on resource management projects, information on boating safety, and much more. The park will also display some of the artifacts from its museum collection. Light refreshments will be served and activities for children are planned!

Following the community open house, the public is invited to attend a public meeting from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to discuss plans and share ideas about Zebra Mussel control on Lake Powell. Both the open house and the Zebra Mussel meeting will be held at park headquarters, 691 Scenic View Drive. For additional information, please contact the park at (928) 608-6200.
