A road collapse south of Page has closed US-89 until further notice. US-89 is closed northbound at US-89A. In Page, US 89 is closed at the junction with State Route 98. Traffic is being detoured around closure utilizing SR-98 & US-160. US-89A is open. More »

Fatality at Lees Ferry

A National Park Service (NPS) spokesperson for Glen Canyon National Recreation Area announced this afternoon that a 34 year-old male from Laramie, Wyoming was found dead at Lees Ferry today. The cause of his death is unknown at this time. The incident is being jointly investigated by the NPS and Coconino County Sheriff's Office. The man along with his family and friends was camped at Lees Ferry and planned to float the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon today. National Park Service received the 911 call at approximately 6:15 this morning. |
