Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center

The Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center (GCMRC) has researches who study Lake Powell to determine the effects of the operation of Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.  Water quality monitoring is conducted monthly near the dam and quarterly throughout the main channel, San Juan channel, and the Escalante channel of Lake Powell.  Monthly monitoring is also conducted at the dam and Lee’s Ferry.
