The National Park Service today announced that an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Glen Canyon Rim Trail is available for review and public comment. The project would construct a 9-mile recreational hiking and bicycling trail along the rim of Glen Canyon near the City of Page, Arizona. The project would connect popular hiking and sightseeing destinations, including the Horseshoe Bend overlook and the city’s existing Rimview Trail into one seamless trail network. The EA evaluates the impacts to the environment from construction of the trail.

The EA is available for viewing and comments may be submitted online at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/glca. Comments may also be sent to: Glen Canyon Rim Trail EA, Glen Canyon NRA, P.O. Box 1507, Page, AZ 86040, or by fax to (928) 608-6259. A limited number of hard copies of the EA are available for review at the park headquarters building in Page, AZ.

Please be aware that your entire comment, including personal identifying information such as your name, address, and phone number, may be made available to the public at any time.

All comments must be received by July 10, 2009.
