WEST GLACIER, MONT. – Officials at Glacier National Park announce that reduced winter entrance fees will again be in place this season from December 1, 2006, through April 30, 2007. The winter fee will be $15 for vehicles and $10 for single entrants (a hiker/biker/or motorcyclist.) These reduced winter fees recognize the limited services available during the winter months.

Officials note that annual park passes which allow for unlimited entry to Glacier for one year from the date of purchase cost $30 until December 31, 2006. Beginning January 1, 2007, they will increase to $35.

Even when the entrance stations are not staffed, entrance fees are still required. Follow the posted instructions to pay the entrance fee at the self-pay stations at each entrance.

Throughout the winter, the park plows the Going-to-the-Sun Road to Lake McDonald Lodge on the west side and to the gate at the St. Mary campground on the east side. Depending upon local road conditions, it may be possible to travel further into the park.
