Denise Germann to serve as Public Affairs Specialist for Glacier National Park

WEST GLACIER, MT. - Park Superintendent Chas Cartwright is pleased to announce the selection of Denise Germann to assume the role of Public Affairs Specialist for Glacier National Park. Germann will work as a Management Assistant for the Superintendent’s office overseeing Public Affairs, landowner issues, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Germann served most recently as the Public Affairs Officer for the Flathead National Forest since 2004 and her career spans both the Forest Service and National Park Service. Her National Park Service career includes positions at Homestead National Monument of America, Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site and the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (Gateway Arch). She also worked seasonally at Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Harry S Truman National Historic Site, and the Rocky Mountain Regional Office, now named Intermountain Regional Office. Other Forest Service experiences include working in public affairs at the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests in Colorado and Wyoming and the Rocky Mountain Regional Office in Lakewood, Colorado.

Germann said, "I'm excited for the opportunity to work at Glacier National Park. It is one of the gems of the National Park Service." Germann believes that her experience and understanding of the different missions of each agency, complimented with her knowledge of and contacts in the Flathead Valley will prove valuable in her new position.
