One of the significant things about Glacier National Park is its wilderness character. Although the park is not a federally designated "Wilderness," it is managed as wilderness.
An excellent guide to helping students understand more about wilderness is The Wilderness & Land Ethic Curriculum produced by the Arthur Carhart National Wilderness Training Center.
There is also a wilderness trunk available for loan in the Flathead region. Visit our traveling trunks page and download the list of additional trunks to find out how to reserve it.
