IMS/SDE Web Mapping Workgroup Teleconference
This teleconference was broken into thee 1Hr sub-group meetings:

In attendance: IMRO Paul Voris, GRLA Ulf Gafvert, VAFO Jim VanOstenbridge, NR Lisa Nelson, NCSU Bill Slocumb, WASO David Duran
- Not much input to needs form
- Ulf - How do we get better input?
- GRLA's needs are in-house and consistent data
- Bill - Echo consistent data (DOQ, DRG)
- House data and serve from National level- David - We need to use a consistentdeveopment interface. That way we can share resources and migrate all developmental efforts to share by all
- IMS has 2 modes and three different programming environments
- 2 Modes
- Image service - server generates an image and send to client
- Streaming feature serviec - send data constrained by extrent to client which renders image
- 3 main programming environments
- Java - Fat need to download code to client each time
- HTML (JS) - thinner but again download to client
- JSP/ASP/CF - thinnest, server side processing
- there is a 4th Webservices - mostly for data serving
- Also need to take into consideration OGC (Open GIS Consortium) efforts

- Discusson with Dean as to the status and availability of NHD to 12 digit HUC level
- Cont discussion with NPS Hydro and ArcHydro efforts
- Talked about what the goals of the first phase is (start work on a NPS deveolped GeoDB and use an existing GeoDB to start working with Versioning, checkin/out and the like)
