YCC programs are conducted for 8-10 weeks during the summer programs. Participants must be between the ages of 15 and 18 years of age at the start of the program. Most of the NPS YCC programs are non-residential; however the NPS does have two residential programs at Yosemite National Park and Yellowstone National Park.

How to Apply
1) Contact your local national park or contact a Youth Program Coordinator serving your state for more information on the YCC enrollment process.

2) Complete an application and send to parks of interest by April 15th.

Enrollees are selected without regard to civil service or classification laws, rules or regulation. The selection process is conducted in a public forum by the random method.

Enrollee Pay
Enrollees are paid the established federal minimum wage. Enrollees in states with a minimum wage higher than the federal will be paid at the higher rate.
