Entry to the park is free of charge.

ADMISSION TO THE MUSEUM AND VISITOR CENTER
There is an admission charge for the Museum Experience, the film "A New Birth of Freedom" narrated by Morgan Freeman, and to view the Gettysburg Cyclorama program.

ADMISSION (includes museum exhibits, film and cyclorama):
$10.50 per Adult
$9.50 per Seniors and Active Military (with proper ID)
$6.50 per Youth (ages 6-18)
Children under 6 years old admitted free.

GROUP RATES:
$7.50 per Adult groups (groups with 16+ members)
$6.00 per Youth groups (groups with 16+ members)

NATIONAL PARK PASSES
Pleae note that America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Passes, Golden Age and Golden Eagle passes are not accepted for entrance to the Gettysburg NMP Museum and Visitor Center.




LICENSED BATTLEFIELD GUIDE SERVICE
Enhance your Gettysburg experience with a privately guided tour of the battlefield in your own vehicle with one of Gettysburg's renowned Battlefield Guides. Standard auto tours are two hours in length and available daily on a first come, first served basis. You may also make advance reservations by calling 1-877-874-2478. PLEASE NOTE: Advance reservations must be made at least three days prior to your scheduled visit to the park.

GUIDE FEES:
1-6 people per vehicle= $55.00
7-15 people per vehicle= $70.00
16+ people per veicle= $125.00

During the busy summer season, there are commercial bus tours available with a licensed guide aboard. These buses leave from the visitor center at times scheduled throughout the day. Check at the Visitor Center for the daily schedule.

BUS TOUR FEES:
$25.95 per Adults (ages 13+)
$15.50 per Youth (ages 6-12)
FREE to children 5 and under.

For certain events and ceremonies held in the park, sponsoring groups will require a Special Use Permit, which is available through our web site or by calling the park at (717) 334-1124, extension 3161.

PERMITS


 

McMILLAN WOODS YOUTH CAMPGROUND
For scouting and youth groups that visit Gettysburg National Military Park, we offer McMillan Woods Youth Campground, located on West Confederate Avenue in the park. The camp area is open from mid April through October each year. Any organized youth group with adequate adult supervision (minimum of one adult for every 10 youths) is welcome to use the camping area. Adults accompanying the group must be supervisors such as troop scoutmasters or youth counselors; family members are not permitted to camp with their child's organization. Camping is free with sites reserved through an annual lottery.

The 2010 Camping Season runs from April 9 to October 25, 2010. McMillan Woods Youth Campground is closed from October 26, 2010 through April 10, 2011.

NOTE: There is no family or individual camping permitted at McMillan Woods Youth Campground or on park grounds.

CAMPGROUND RESERVATIONS
To place a request for the 2010 camping season, download the new 2010 Campground Reservation form. Fax or mail your request to the address on the form no later than JANUARY 19, 2010. Request forms for the lottery will not be accepted after this date.

The lottery will be held on FEBRUARY 1, 2010 and notifications will be mailed a day or so after that date. We do not release results of the campground lottery over the phone. Everyone who submiited a request will be notified by mail on or about February 15, 2010. Remaining dates for the rest of the camping season will be posted on-line here by February 19, 2010, and will be available on a first come, first served basis.

John Burns after the battle (Library of Congress)  

Did You Know?
John Burns, a 72 year old veteran of the War of 1812 and resident of Gettysburg, fought side by side with Union soldiers in the first day of the battle of Gettysburg in 1863 and was wounded several times. His service is commemorated by a battlefield statue at Gettysburg National Military Park.
